Maggie Gyllenhaal Regrets Sept. 11 Comment

FoxNews reports: Actress in Hot Water Over Sept. 11 Remarks
NEW YORK — Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal (search) says she has learned the hard way not to talk about politics on the red carpet.

The 27-year-old actress, who stars in a film about the 2001 terror attacks on the World Trade Center, said in an interview last April that the United States was "responsible in some way" for the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

She later issued a statement through her publicist saying that Sept. 11 was
"an occasion to be brave enough to ask some serious questions about America's role in the world."

  • I think that someone, anyone, has not only the chance but the responsibility to stand up for and speak for the change that is needed not only in a world plagued by disease, war, and car salesman, but in a country that again and again represses the people of the international community, both at home and abroad.

Of course the US didn't plan 9/11 (or did they??!!??, nah), but by siphoning off money to the Bin Laden family and then suppressing their actions gave them the resources and motivation to want to cause harm.

But it was not us that chose to take these actions, it is the former presidents, who are long gone from power and any kind of blame, who brought this ill reputation, and the current one won't be leaving a good reputation either.

    Ehh, screw it.
But if the celebrity world represses its own people for speaking out against a government that has taken the environment after 9/11 and instituting autocratic and unrighteous laws, may Maggie Gyllenhaal strike you down!!
