Britney Spears to guest-star on 'Will and Grace'

It looks like Britney Spears is headed to primetime. The pop princess and new mom will appear as a guest star on NBC’s “Will & Grace,” Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The Emmy Award-winning comedy, which will end its eight year run in May, is known for landing high-profile guests including Madonna, Demi Moore and Michael Douglas.

A source told Access that it is a “done” deal and Britney will likely tape her cameo episode sometime in February. A spokesperson for NBC declined comment.

In what will be Britney’s first primetime television episodic appearance, she guest-stars as a Christian conservative sidekick to Jack (Sean Hayes) on the episode “Jack Talk,” set to air on Thursday, April 13.

In the episode, when “Out TV” is bought by a Christian Television Network, Spears is brought on to be Jack’s new religious co-host—until Will (Eric McCormack) and Jack loosen her up.

Walk the Line' star and presumed Oscar contender Joaquin Phoenix walked away a bit shaken but otherwise unhurt when the automobile he was driving rolled over in the Hollywood Hills, police said on Friday.

The 31-year-old actor told police the crash occurred when his brakes failed as he was driving along a winding stretch of Lookout Mountain Road shortly before 3 p.m. Pacific time on Thursday, said Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Martha Garcia.

The performer's car overturned on a hillside and collided with another vehicle, but neither driver was injured in the wreck, Garcia said.

A police officer who arrived on the scene found no evidence of alcohol, drugs or criminal negligence involved, so the crash will be left to the insurance companies to investigate.

'The officer helped (Phoenix) exchange information with the other party, and that was the end of it,' Garcia said.

Phoenix won a Golden Globe Award and is favored to capture an Oscar nomination next week for his role as country music star Johnny Cash in 'Walk the Line,' co-starring Reese Witherspoon. He also has been nominated by the Screen Actors Guild, which presents its annual film awards on Sunday.
The actor's spokeswoman, Susan Patricola, was quoted by Us Weekly magazine on its Web site as saying Phoenix was "doing fine" after the accident but "may be very sore in the morning." She said he still planned to attend the SAG Awards.

Other films Phoenix has appeared in include "Gladiator," "The Yards" and "Quills." He is the younger brother of actor River Phoenix, who died of a drug overdose at age 23 in 1993. | source: Reuters

Kutcher Among Reno Restaurant Investors

Ashton Kutcher is among a group of investors expected to launch a restaurant in a planned Reno hotel-condominium-casino.

The new Dolce restaurant would serve the same Italian cuisine as its Melrose Avenue location in Hollywood, Calif.

With its celebrity investors, who include Kutcher, best known for his role on 'That '70s Show' and as the husband of Demi Moore, the restaurant could attract a glamorous crowd, said Grand Sierra Resort Corp. President Thomas Schrade.

Other celebrity investors include Danny Masterson and Wilmer Valderrama, also stars of 'That `70s Show;' Chris Masterson of 'Malcolm in the Middle;' and Jamie Kennedy of 'The Jamie Kennedy Experiment.'

Grand Sierra Resort officials announced plans in May to buy the Reno Hilton hotel for $150 million, convert it to hotel-condominiums and build a large indoor water park on the property.

The Hilton, northern Nevada's largest hotel-casino with 1,995 rooms, will be renamed Grand Sierra Resort. | Source: The Associated Press

Kevin Federline - A No-Talent Mr Spears?

Hey kids! What’s Portuguese for “no-talent hack”? If you guessed “K-Fed,” you’re burning up!

Sure, the Google translator may not agree. But language is fluid, give it time. (Think how fast Snoop Dogg embedded “izzle” in the participle zeitgeist.) In the wake of Kevin Federline’s rap debut, “PopoZao” (Portuguese for bodacious derrière), Brazil might just oblige. It’s the least South America can do for the United States — the country that gave the world its very first Mr. Britney Spears.

Allegedly the first single from an upcoming album, Federline’s “PopoZao” dropped exclusively on Yahoo Music Unlimited and quickly became the hottest thing on the Internet since “Saturday Night Live’s” “Lazy Sunday” video. Blogs, chat rooms and bulletin boards were on the Brazilian-flavored disco ditty like trailer trash on a pop star. And not because, like Mr. Pibb and Red Vines, it’s crazy delicious. Word to Sean Preston’s mother: Turns out the popular-culture consuming audience doesn’t really like Kevin Federine. | source:MSNBC

George Clooney and Teri Hatcher Dating?

Are George Clooney and Teri Hatcher an item? The two have been spotted looking cozy at various spots around Los Angeles, and are doing little to dispel buzz that they're dating. "If I went on a date with George Clooney I would not be talking about it," Hatcher has been quoted as saying.

When The Scoop asked Clooney's spokesman, Stan Rosenfield, to respond to reports that the hunky actor had gone on several dates with the "Desperate Housewives" star, he replied, "What is your definition of a date?" He later came back and said, “I spoke with George and this is what he told me. ‘The rumor-reports, etc.’ that I’ve had ‘several dates with Teri Hatcher’ is not true, but if it was true, you’d be the first to know.’” | source:MSNBC.com

Reese Witherspoon's Globe Gown Was Worn By Dunst

Reese Witherspoon's gown wasn't vintage - though it had been worn by another actress three years ago. Photos published this week showed the Golden Globe winner wearing the same glittery Chanel cocktail dress that Kirsten Dunst had worn to the awards in 2003. Witherspoon, the best actress in a musical or comedy winner for "Walk the Line," was seen asking Chanel President Maureen Chiquet at an after-party why she wasn't told the gown already had a public outing, Women's Wear Daily reported.

Gretchen Fenton, publicist for Chanel, told The Associated Press the fashion house was "unaware" that Dunst, star of the "Spider-Man" movies, had worn the dress. The fashion house apologized for "the oversight." "We are honored that Reese chose to wear Chanel and thought she looked beautiful," the company said in a statement. "We congratulate her on her well-deserved win." Witherspoon believed the gown - in a champagne color with metallic trim on the bust "was vintage", her publicist, Nanci Ryder, was reported as telling the New York Post in Wednesday's editions.

"Reese was told the dress was vintage," Ryder was quoted as saying. "It was not. I'm not angry - just a little disappointed, but the big deal is Reese won the Golden Globe." A press release from the company on celebrities wearing Chanel gowns to the Golden Globes had described the dress as vintage. Fenton said the gown is from the 2002 couture collection and isn't considered vintage." | source: MSNBC.com

Britney Spears Rescued By Paparazzi

Sometimes, even the world's biggest stars need a little bit of help and sometimes it comes from the most unlikely of sources.
Access Hollywood has learned that Britney Spears and her brother were rescued by paparazzi on a California highway Sunday evening.
Britney was with her brother, Bryan, driving through Malibu on Sunday when their Ferrari broke down.
In a rare moment of cooperation, the paparazzi (who were trailing the pop princess as usual) helped Britney and Bryan, 29, push the car off to the side of the road, according to a source close to the Spears family. The shutterbugs then stayed with the siblings until police showed up. When authorities arrived, Britney and Bryan hopped into the backseat of a squad car and were driven home. | source: MSNBC.com

Whitney Houston Back On Drugs?!?

Whitney Houston is back on the drugs and looks like a bag lady, the National Enquirer reports in its latest issue. The once-stunning Grammy winner was photographed at an Atlanta gas station at 4 a.m. one morning last month, looking disheveled and bizarre in pajama bottoms, a $50,000 fur coat and a messy wig.

The supermarket tab says Whitney's voice is shot from years of cocaine abuse and she and her hubby, Roxbury homey Bobby Brown, are running out of money. The newspaper claims Houston, who underwent rehab at least twice since confessing on TV three years ago she had used cocaine, pills and booze, has blown through her fortune buying drugs and supporting a posse of hangers-on. And because she cannot record, no new cash is coming in.

But sources close to Brown say the ex-New Edition crooner is up to date on child support payments to his ex-galpal and Stoughton resident Kim Ward, who has two of Bobby's kids. Brown even made a whopping payment to the kids' college funds last fall, ending years of delinquency.

"He's all paid up," said our spy. "But she doesn't look good."
Brown's Bravo reality series "Being Bobby Brown" has been renewed for another season. | From e-mail forward.
